Reader Question – Water and Wet Dreams

Long time reader first time commenter. I was told if you don’t masturbate for about a week and then drink water six hours before you masturbate it will be a very intense orgasm, but a week ago was Sunday. I have had a house guest who I am not rushing off, but I am afraid that I will have a wet dream and waste all the cum I have been saving up. Is there a way to prevent me from blowing my load in my sleep? I really don’t want a wet dream.

Well, many people have found that if they haven’t had an orgasm in a while, when they finally do it is usually more intense. But if you’re thinking about semen volume, you really only have to about wait three days, not a whole week (which could very well be true for orgasm intensity as well – anyone willing to volunteer for some empirical experimentation in the name of science?)

But I really don’t see how drinking water would have any effect on the intensity of your orgasm or on the amount you ejaculate. Besides, drinking a lot of water and then waiting six hours isn’t really going to force your body to absorb a whole lot of water; generally speaking we humans can only absorb about one-quarter liter of water per 10-15 mins. So, if you were trying to super-hydrate yourself, you’d be better off drinking 250 mL every 15 mins for your 6 hours – BUT I seriously doubt that it would have any effect on your orgasm intensity or ejaculate volume.

[I've checked all over over the place, even in some anatomy books, and there is no reason, that I can find, for drinking water increasing your semen volume. The closest thing I found was that having a full bladder for an extended period of time (like when you have prostate problems) can compress your prostate, causing it to enlarge to protect itself - but I don't think that's really something you want to do to yourself on purpose because it can lead to all kinds of other complications (according to this source).

BUT I did come up with another theory of my own to explain why some guys may have noticed an increase in ejaculate (and/or pleasure) when they try the water trick - a placebo effect. You drink your water and then spend the next six hours (or so) thinking about how awesome it's going to be when you cum later - you end up spending more time in a state of arousal thinking about cumming buckets than you would otherwise. So you actually could build up more fluid (like when you edge) and thus fulfill the promise of this old husband's tale all on your own (without the water ACTUALLY physically doing anything).]

In any case, it sounds like you’re more worried about having a wet dream and “wasting” all your hard work. Wet dreams are kindof unpredictable, but if you’re not the type of guy who usually has them, you probably don’t have much to worry about. Generally speaking, just because you’re not bringing yourself to orgasm in your awake time as often as usual, that doesn’t mean your body will feel the need to compensate by having a wet dream – even Kinsey found that in his research.
In fact, plenty of guys have had wet dreams less than 12 hours after having had sex or masturbating.

Besides it’s not like your body NEEDS to have a wet dream to get rid of “excess” semen or anything- sperm only builds up for a few days before they are absorbed back into the body and are replaced by fresh swimmers. So even if you have a wet dream while your guest is there, you won’t really be wasting your “load”; just hold on for another three days afterwards and you’ll be fine – but I suggest forgetting about the water.

I know I’m dickless, but I am more than willing to actively participate in any and all masturbatory experiments in the name of Shay Science.

You just let me know, sweetie.

Just to contribute my own very unscientific anecdote :-

I often save up three or four days, since I really like to take my time so might skip a day rather than rush a session.

There’s definately a big increase in volume just doing that, but I’d also heard of the drinking lots of water trick and have tried that a few times, too.

(For the hell of it, or for the look of it such as when a friend wanted to see her photo decorated, but that’s a whole other story!)

In my experience, it really can lead to an enormous extra increase.

So it seems, at least. Not really scientific. I haven’t got any plausible story as to what causes it, either, but I’ve certainly never been disappointed.

My experience is that a large consumption of water fills the bladder making it press against the prostate. That pressure seems to help the prostate ejaculate more semen.

And I know I enjoy sex (self or with a partner) more with a full bladder. Adds another delicious sensation to the other stimulations!

    Okay,

Anyway, until Strumpet and I grow our futa penises and fully, empirically, objectively test this myth – I’m going to have to keep it filed away as that, a myth.

    Hmmm, Shay with a penis….
We could still have crazy sex afterwards though, right??

    yikes

questions like this validate your blog ten times over. this poor guy honestly belive this “play-ground-biology”. this is why the masses need to be educated

there is no connection between the reproductive system on a guy and his blatter save for that part of the penis when they share the same “tube”

oh, and fyi the main reason for wet dreams is that you repress your sexual urge long enough you wind up firing one off in your sleep. masturbate regularly and you will have more controll over your squirt’n
