I arrived back from a recent trip to find BOB waiting for me, sent by my friends at California Exotics. Alright, his full name is Pure Silicone B.O.B. (which stands for “Battery Operated Buddy”), and he’s a pretty studly looking fellow.
BOB is designed to be relatively realistic looking – so he’s your man if you want a phallic vibe! BOB’s got a long shaft (17cm and 11.5cm of that is insert-able), but not a lot of girth (~3 – 4 cm diameter) and tons of details: he’s got a flared head with folds underneath, the shaft is textured with veins, and he’s even got a bulge at the base, like balls, with “tantalizing pleasure ticklers”. If you like phallic things, BOB looks like a pretty darn sexy toy.
BOB is made of hypo-allergenic silicone, but all the folds and texture mean that you need to make sure you clean it well after using it. BOB takes two AA batteries and comes with two buttons: one to turn him on and off and one to change the vibration program (there’s 10!). When you start him up, BOB will vibrate at whatever program you left him on last – which is cool if you have a fave setting, so you don’t have to cycle through every time to get to it.
What I liked: I really liked how BOB looked, the texture looks really cool and the vibe has a nice firm squishiness to it. And I like it when toys have a lot of fun vibration programs and easy to use buttons – like BOB does. The vibrations transfer pretty well through the silicone, and the motor is near the tip which makes it fun to use externally.
What I didn’t like: The motor sounds funny and, as I cycled through the programs, it kinda sounded like a vibration version of a car alarm – I’m not sure how to explain it. He’s not super loud, but not very quiet either. I also found BOB a little long for my body, I was curious about the ticklers on “his balls” but it felt like they were always just a little out of reach; I wish he had been a tiny bit thicker too. Another thing about the ticklers – I don’t know what they were supposed to do, since pretty much all of the vibration is happening near the other end of the toy.
This toy would be great for: someone who wants a sexy phallic looking vibe that is long, but slim. Because of the bulging section (the balls) of this toy you could potentially use it anally, which might make it a good toy for double penetration, since it’s not too thick.
